Q.  How does the TURNCOUPLE® Assembly work, and what makes it unique?

A. The Assembly has three cylindrical parts: a female coupler with right and left-threaded ends, and two male adapters, one right-threaded and the other left-threaded.  The coupler rotates to engage both adapters simultaneously, creating a fluid-tight seal.

Distinctive design features of the TURNCOUPLE® Assembly make it secure, precise and easy to use:

  • internal threads of the coupler begin at exactly the same point on each end;
  • those points are indicated by a positional mark on the outside of the coupler;
  • positional marks on the adapters indicate the beginning of the threads on the coupler end;
  • aligning the two adapter marks at installation assures that the coupler closes on both adapters at the same time;
  • aligning the adapter and coupler marks makes thread engagement immediate and positive;
  • holes in external flanges enable locking parts together with a lock, bolt, seizing wire, wire tie, etc.
  • flange holes permit the use of a pin spanner as a space-saving alternative to a wrench;
  • a directional arrow points the way to open the coupler - this arrow and the positional marks can be tactile as well as visual.
